For Mark it all started when his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006.
Naturally her diagnosis came as a big shock.
But perhaps more so because she’d always been such a health conscious person.
Even before her diagnosis Mark’s mother would warn him about the dangers of EMFs.
This was long before anybody was really talking about the issue.
Being naturally curious Mark set out to test her theories and concerns.
He attended graduate school and obtained a Master’s Degree in BioMedical
Engineering.
Mark began to experiment and develop products to help protect himself and his family.
He enjoyed what he was doing and thought how wonderful it would be to be able to educate people and help them live healthier lives by offering EMF protection products.
Mark discovered that a significant amount
of EMFs are generated from laptops.
The idea to develop a product to reduce radiation grew into a design, and the design turned into a product.
After two years of testing, idea conceptualizing, result verification and design optimization, the “Heat And Radiation Attenuating pad,” or HARApad, was born.
With some friends that were also engineers he decided to take create a company to make and sell HARApads and other EMF protection products.
They named the company HARApad after the laptop shield they had created.
