“Chocolate is ground from the beans of happiness.” ~ Terri Guillemets
Bonjour! A few months ago, I shared with my community a little bit about my life - ooops! my wife.
My lovely wife owns a small, artisan chocolate business on the edge of a small ville in France, and throughout the last year, she has gotten up each day and simply gone to work. Some days, her boutique gets just one visitor in the whole day, due to lockdown.
But, she says, “Mes chocolats ont donnés de la joie à cette personne, donc c'est important.” (Translation: My chocolates gave joy to that one person, and that is important.)
So today, for only the second time, I want to invite you to share in her work. We successfully did this at Christmastime for over 100 people in my community. Today - way ahead of the Easter Holiday, we are sharing the opportunity to purchase a small, select, delectable box of her chocolate. Each box is $60 US and available in milk, dark or mixed.
We got such wonderful feedback last time. In response to some questions, I want to share a little FAQ with you all.
Where are the chocolates from? Yes, the chocolates are meticulously crafted in the north of France, in small batches, and sent all around the world.
Why aren’t they each wrapped individually in the box? No, each chocolate is not individually “paper” wrapped, like that old I Love Lucy episode - it’s just not how it’s done in fine European Chocolate Boutiques. But they ARE wrapped in love. :-)
How long will they take to arrive? We did see delivery times of about four weeks at Christmas - and a few even longer - but we don’t expect that to happen again, now that the holidays are over. But that's why I'm mailing now to be sure you get them in time for Easter.
Are these just for Easter? No! This is a beautiful gift, and appropriate for any occasion or gift to someone you love - or a great little box of self care if you’re feeling low.
Can chocolate really lift my spirits or support my health? Ahhhh…. Now we’re talking! Did you know that the energetic healing of chocolate goes back to Ancient Mayans and Aztecs?
They used chocolate for spiritual and ceremonial purposes. (It was known as the “food of the gods,” by the Mayans, because chocolate, or cacao, can act as a powerful aphrodisiac that awakens the “love hormones” in the body, such as serotonin and dopamine.)
Many spiritual beliefs say that chocolate opens the heart and allows for a deeper, authentic love-based connection with yourself, others, and the world. And they’re right! In 1992, scientists discovered a unique particle known as anandamide present in humans and in chocolate. Anandamide (which comes from the word ananda - BLISS!) attaches to the precise same receptors in the brain that the THC in marijuana does, creating a
moment of elation.
Chocolate also supercharges energy - boosting two natural chemicals found in the body - theobromine and phenethylamine, which stimulate the pleasure-inducing hormone dopamine.
Let’s not forget, chocolate is 'choc' full of antioxidant activity, polyphenols and flavanols. Antioxidants are important for repairing free radical damage caused by a long list of stressors, including EMFs. Is eating chocolate another form of EMF protection? At some level, yes. I do eat dark chocolate EVERY day, but I eat it because I love it.
Each small box has about 20 melt-in-your-mouth morsels of love and vibration. Every bite is an experience of your senses -a delicious, velvety feeling of love and possibility.
With love, Lloyd and Emmanuelle
